With 37 lines of reefs stretching across the city from north to south, thousands of prospectors flocked to the valley to try their luck. Travel through Bendigo's golden past - visit the site that sparked the gold rush, walk through the remains of an open-cut mine from the 1850's, climb a poppet head, relax with coffee and cake overlooking the site of the 1850's Government Camp. Descend 61 metres underground into a real working mine and have a Cornish miner's lunch in the Crib Room of the Central Deborah Mine. Highlights:
