The Chinese arrived on the Bendigo goldfields in the early 1850’s and contributed greatly to the development of Bendigo. Step inside the Golden Dragon Museum and experience the living history of the Chinese people of Bendigo. View the many treasures that lie within its walls including beautiful gowns, wine cups dating from 1500-1000BC and antique furniture.

See Sun Loong, the longest imperial dragon in the world, who is awoken from his slumber every Easter to the sound of fire crackers and drums. Continue your journey through time to the Joss House, the oldest Chinese house of prayer still in use in Australia. Reflect upon the lives of the Chinese as you stand at a burial site of these early pioneers. Then prepare your tastebuds for a sumptuous smorgasbord at one of Bendigo’s leading Chinese restaurants.
